It is the beating heart of giant panda conservation in China, located in the historic <a href=\"https:\/\/ciaopanda.it\/wolong-nature-reserve-panda-giganti-visita-guida\/\">Wolong Nature Reserve<\/a>. It is the oldest and largest in the world \u2013 and represents a symbol of resilience after the devastation of the 2008 earthquake. Established in 1981 by the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP), it housed 63 giant pandas in an idyllic bamboo valley before the disaster, raising the cub survival rate from 30% to 90% thanks to pioneering research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fondazione-e-significato-storico\">Wolong Hetaoping Panda Center: the story <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il Wolong Hetaoping Panda Center \u00e8 nato nel 1963 come riserva protetta su 200.000 ettari nella catena Minshan, ai piedi dell&#8217;altopiano tibetano (Regione Autonoma Tibetana ABA, Sichuan). Wolong fu la prima risposta del governo cinese alla crisi dei panda giganti, tesori nazionali endangered. Nel 1980 entr\u00f2 nella rete UNESCO Man and Biosphere, e l&#8217;anno dopo il CCRCGP apr\u00ec il centro Hetaoping per breeding e ricerca. In risposta, il governo realloc\u00f2 panda: molti a Shenshuping\/Gengda (nuovo centro completato 2014) e Dujiangyan, preservando il network CCRCGP che oggi gestisce 808 panda in cattivit\u00e0.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ricostruzione-reinswildering-e-stato-attuale\">Reconstruction, reinswildering and how to get there<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Post-terremoto, Hetaoping rinacque come Wolong Hetaoping Reintroduction Center, focalizzato su riabilitazione e reinswildering: panda semi-selvatici vengono addestrati per il rilascio nel Parco Nazionale Panda Gigante (27.134 km\u00b2). Coordinate: Wenchuan County, Sichuan (31.48\u00b0N 103.20\u00b0E), raggiungibile via G317 da Chengdu (3-4 ore auto). Oggi, ospita 20-30 panda in recinti naturali, con enfasi su genetica e monitoraggio satellite.
