Its face is made even more expressive by two eye spots that resemble small birds taking flight, a detail that accentuates her lively and cheerful look.

Origins of the nickname “Er Gou”

Inside the Chengdu base, Run Yue is also known as “Er Gou” — “Second Dog” — a reference to her mother, affectionately known as “Little Dog.” A lively daughter, Run Yue stood out for her mischievous nature: often caught stealing snacks from her classmates or annoying the keepers with innocent pranks, she became the facility's exuberant mascot.

The tender bond with Yuan Run

The relationship between Run Yue and her mother has always been deep and constant. From her earliest days, the little panda never left Yuan Run's side, receiving attention, cuddles, and those signature "affectionate licks" that shaped the color and shine of her fur. Yuan Run, however, is also a strict mother: when Run Yue overstepped her bounds, she intervened with little educational "lessons." The two often engaged in entertaining duels that, more than clashes, represented true moments of growth and complicity.

Run Yue's Food Battles and Strategies

Run Yue has always had a boundless passion for food, especially for his loved ones wo wo tou (steamed buns) and fresh apples. During meals with Hua Hua or Ai Jiu, she often engaged in amusing "robberies." Over time, the contests between her companions became real duels of wits. Although Ai Jiu prevailed on most occasions, Run Yue knew how to turn the tables with clever moves and twists worthy of a natural strategist.

An (im)patient teacher for Hua Hua

Besides his playful streak, Run Yue also shows a more playful side. affectionate and protective. With the sweet Hua Hua, to whom she had become like a big sister, spent long periods of time playing and learning. He often tried to teach her tree-climbing techniques, a skill she mastered with agility. However, when faced with her friend's difficulties—due to problems with her hind legs—the small but determined Run Yue alternated between encouragement and comical displays of frustration.

The most significant stages of his life

Run Yue was born on June 5, 2020, 34 minutes before the newborn Ai Jiu, thus earning the title of "class leader" of his generation. His golden fur immediately attracted the media spotlight, so much so that CCTV News dedicated a prime time report to her, joking about her "earthy" complexion. On May 25, 2021, it was Officially adopted by Sichuan Fansaoguang Food Group Co., Ltd., receiving the honorific name Cai Cai. From here, new nicknames were born among fans, such as “Cai Er Gou” or “Cai Zong”.

After separating from her mother, Run Yue joined the group “Jiu Cai Hua Ye”, along with Hua Hua, He Ye and Ai Jiu, four young pandas who quickly became one of the most followed combinations online. Later, with Ai Jiu, she was transferred to the courtyard of the subadults and then in the Yingri Pavilion, where their bond was strengthened through continuous "sister challenges". The two were nicknamed by the keepers the “Troublemaker Sisters”, for their energy and overwhelming complicity.
